Every project is unique, but most fall into one of these tiers. We'll quote your specific vehicle in writing after assessment.

Classic car restoration in Los Angeles is a different kind of project from collision work. Restorations are longer, more involved, and far more personal. Most of our restoration customers have owned the car for decades, inherited it from a parent, or finally bought the project they have dreamed about since high school. We treat every one of those projects accordingly. Accent Collision has been restoring vehicles for the San Fernando Valley since 1994.
Restoration is a spectrum, not a single service. On one end, a sympathetic refresh keeps the original patina and corrects only what is mechanically failing or visually distracting. On the other end, a frame-off rotisserie restoration takes the car back to bare metal, addresses every fastener and bushing, and returns the vehicle to better-than-factory condition. Most projects land somewhere in between, and we work with each owner to define the right scope before any work begins.
Most of our restoration work falls in three buckets: American muscle and pony cars from the late 1960s and 1970s, European sports cars from the 1950s through the 1980s, and pickup trucks of the same eras. We have brought back Mustangs, Camaros, Chevelles, GTOs, 911s, MGBs, Triumphs, Jaguars, Bronco IIs, and Chevy C10s among many others. We also handle the occasional 1990s collectible that is now old enough to need a full refresh.
Restoration projects run on a different clock than collision work. A sympathetic refresh might take 2-3 months. A typical body and paint restoration with mechanical refurbishment runs 9-12 months. A full frame-off rotisserie restoration with chrome and interior runs 18-24 months and is priced accordingly. We bill on a time-and-materials basis with monthly statements and photo updates so there are no surprises.
Restoration customers come from across Los Angeles, but most live nearby — Woodland Hills, West Hills, Tarzana, Reseda, Calabasas, Hidden Hills, Bell Canyon, Topanga, and the rest of the West San Fernando Valley. We are happy to coordinate transport for cars elsewhere in Southern California, and we welcome shop visits during the project so you can see the progress in person.
That depends on why you have the car. As pure financial math, restorations almost never make money — the labor cost exceeds market value for all but the rarest vehicles. As emotional or legacy projects, they often make perfect sense. We will give you an honest read on market value and restoration cost so you can make the call with both numbers in front of you.
Sometimes. For sympathetic refresh projects we can usually schedule work in phases that keep the car running between visits. For full body or frame-off restorations, the car is out of service for the duration of the project.
We do not specialize in concours-judging work. For show-quality restorations targeting Pebble Beach, Amelia Island, or marque-specific national meets, we can refer you to specialty restoration houses better suited to that bar. We focus on driver-quality and high-driver-quality work — restorations meant to be enjoyed on the road, at local cars and coffee, and at regional shows.
